Deerfield Management engaged L&K Partners/Newgrange Construction in the construction and interior build-out of its world-class life science facility, Cure, located at 345 Park Ave South in New York City. Located in the Flatiron District, the innovation campus, is over 300,000sf and across 12 floors, with various space types including move-in ready laboratories, business facilities, and premium event venues to foster the development of therapies and critical discussions in healthcare.
Formerly a single tenant office building, the property required a complete transformation and modernization of building infrastructure including, new utilities, enhanced and added elevators, and a four-story roof addition to house critical equipment. Advanced digital and lab applications required new technical systems including: custom cooling and heating, site-specific generators, upgraded fire safety, risers and fume exhaust systems, and acid-neutralized plumbing.
The campus is designed to foster both innovation and connection, with shared amenities and technology-enabled spaces that promote collaboration. Small meeting rooms feature cameras and video conferencing capabilities, while large conference rooms integrate advanced tracking systems to follow and zoom in on speakers. The general assembly space is equipped for video conferencing and event streaming, with a flexible layout that adapts to various configurations. The 13th floor event space is a multi-functional hub capable of transforming into a dining room, auditorium, training center, boardroom, or lounge, supported by three 110-inch LED video walls, wireless microphones, and ceiling speakers for seamless presentations. Together, these spaces create a dynamic ecosystem where groundbreaking science and inspired collaboration thrive.
