Showfields

Retail/Showrooms | Ground-up/Repositioning

L&K Partners/Newgrange Construction was hired as the construction manager for the gut renovation/ repositioning of Showfields’ 45,000 sf multi-level department store located in New York City’s premier shopping neighborhood, SoHo. The retail showroom, known as “the most interesting store in the world”, offers direct-to-consumer brands the ability to take their products offline and into immersive pop-up displays and theatrical installations. The project required the repositioning of a former homeless shelter, and the gut renovation of four floors to support experiential display elements including, vendor kiosks, secret entry doorways, a multi-floor slide. Structurally, the four-story heritage brownstone required new elevator framing, technical systems, and fire safety systems. We worked closely with the client to develop a deep understanding of the business’ unique operation to create a revamped brick-and-mortar shopping experience.
