New York, NY — L&K Partners is proud to announce the Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 1 Pavilion has received a 2026 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Small Project Award, recognizing excellence in architecture and design.
Located at the main entrance to Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Pier 1 Pavilion serves as a welcoming gateway to the waterfront park. Designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects in collaboration with Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, the project features three stone-clad buildings beneath a sculptural canopy that house public restrooms, concessions, and park operations while maintaining open views and circulation. Opened in April 2025 as part of the park's 15th anniversary, the pavilion enhances the visitor experience and strengthens connections between the surrounding neighborhoods and the 85-acre park.
As Construction Manager, L&K Partners partnered closely with the design team and project stakeholders to deliver the pavilion's custom stonework, exposed structural elements, sustainable building systems, and seamless integration into the active park.
